Philip D. Krebs

Phil is a Managing Partner and co-Founder of Avondale Partners, an investment banking firm headquartered in Nashville. He and his partners have advised companies on over 200 transactions totaling more than $40 billion since the firm’s founding in 2001. Avondale provides a variety of services to companies throughout the U.S., including mergers and acquisitions, financial advisory, private capital raising, and public offerings of debt and equity.

Avondale is a nationally recognized boutique focusing on the $3.5 trillion healthcare industry. Nashville is home to 500 healthcare companies and is generally considered the center of healthcare services and healthcare information technology; both areas where Phil has advised on dozens of transactions over his career.

Phil graduated from Cornell with a BS in industrial engineering & operations research and went on to join Accenture where he spent several years as a systems consultant in NYC. After receiving his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1983, Phil began his investment banking career in NYC and was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers before heading south to Nashville. Over 35 years, Phil has worked with companies across the globe in a number of industries, including telecom, energy, retail/consumer, and healthcare. Phil particularly enjoys working with entrepreneurs to help build their businesses and Nashville is a city of entrepreneurs.

Phil is the past chair and a current board member of the Centerstone Foundation. Centerstone, with operations in five states, is one of the nation’s largest community behavioral healthcare businesses. Phil was also past chair and is the current treasurer of the board of trustees of the Ensworth School, a private, independent K-12 school in Nashville.

Phil is married to Diana, a UPenn lawyer, who now runs a real estate business and is co-owner of a guitar amplifier business (so Nashville for a Southern California woman). Together they have six children spread throughout the country.
