Jeffrey P. Weiss

Jeff co-founded Distributed Sun in 2009 and is Co-Chairman and Managing Director. He leads capital formation and is active in business development, strategy and governance. Jeff participates and speaks regularly at industry and leadership forums.

An early digital media and commerce entrepreneur, Jeff has led companies in renewable energy, cyber and physical security, intelligence and corporate fraud mitigation, mission preparedness and training, software development, and transformational management. Companies include Picture Network International (sold to Kodak in 1997), CDx (Certificate of Deposit Exchange), Vista ($100MM network services firm), TSG ($10MM strategic intelligence firm), and ASAP Ventures (strategy, advisory & angel investing).

Jeff graduated from Cornell University and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is President of the Class of ‘79 and an active alumni leader at Cornell; Washington Leadership Chairman of Business Executives for National Security (BENS); Director of Washington Hebrew Congregation; past Co-Chair of the Aspen Institute's Socrates Society and founding director of Shenandoah National Park Trust.

Jeff is a third generation Cornellian, following his father (1949) and grandfather (1909). He and his wife Christie have four children, two of whom attended Cornell (2011 and 2014), and their niece is class of 2015.
