| Michael is executive vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer for Avis Budget Group, the parent company of Avis Rent A Car, Budget Rent A Car, Budget Truck Rental and Zipcar brands. In his position, Michael is responsible for the legal affairs of the Company, including management of its franchising and other contracts, litigation, government relations, global information security and compliance matters in 180 countries around the world.
Michael is a graduate of Cornell’s School of Industrial & Labor Relations and the Boston University School of Law. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Urban League of Morris County (NJ) and a significant contributor and fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In his college years, Michael was an RA in Mary Donlon Hall; a Board Member of the University Minority Student Union; a member of the University Film Committee; and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, the oldest predominately Black fraternity in the world (founded at Cornell in 1906). In 2018, Michael received recognition from the Financial Times for being the most Innovative Lawyer in North America for Data, Knowledge & Intelligence. In 2017, he was recognized by American Corporate Counsel as a Value Champion for his innovative engagement and legal counsel management system. In 2013, he received the Trailblazer of Year award by the New York City Chapter of the National Bar Association. Since 2007, he has consistently been cited as one of the Most Influential Lawyers in America, by Black Enterprise and Savoy magazines. He is married to his lovely wife, Renee, and the father to two wonderful daughters, Michelle and Madison. Michael and his family live in New Hope, PA. |
